Itinerary
Day 1 Moshi - Marangu Gate - Mandara Huts
Moshi (890 m/2,920 ft) to Marangu Gate (1,830 m/6,000 ft) to Mandara Huts (2,740 m/9,000 ft) 12 km, 4-5 hours walking in Montane Forest
After breakfast and a briefing from your guide, leave at the Hotel or Residential at 8:00AM, drive for 45 minutes, from Moshi to the Marangu Gate or 2 Hrs drive from Arusha to Marangu Gate on the eastern side of Kilimanjaro park.
After dinner you overnight at Mandara Huts.
Day 2 Mandara Huts - Horombo Huts
Mandara Huts (2,740 m/9,000 ft) to Horombo Huts (3,690 m/12,100 ft)11 km, 6-8 hours walking in Heath land
Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.
Day 3 Horombo Hut Acclimatization Day
Horombo Hut Acclimatization Day
This extra day will help your acclimatization, and further your understanding of the mountain’s weather and altitude. After your pause, you will continue up to the Kibo Huts on your fourth day for your midnight start to the summit. You will have Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut
Day 4 Horombo Huts - Kibo Huts
Horombo Huts (3,690 m/12,100 ft) to Kibo Huts (4,695 m/15,400 ft) 10 km, 6-8 hours walking in Alpine Desert
Day 5 Kibo Huts - Uhuru Peak - Horombo Huts
Summit Day! From Kibo Huts (4,695 m/ 15,400 ft) to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m/19,340 ft) to Horombo Huts (3,690 m/12,100 ft) 4 km up, 14 km down 10-15 hours Alpine Desert
Dinner and get some well-deserved sleep, you will overnight at Horombo Hut
Day 6 Horombo Huts - Marangu Gate - Moshi
Horombo Huts (3,690 m/12,100 ft) to Marangu Gate (1,830 m/6,000 ft) to Moshi (890 m/2,920 ft) 18 km, 5-7 hours walking in forest

All Kilimanjaro climb packages include 2 nights hotel in Moshi with B & B plan. Our primary hotel for private climbs is The Maridad Hotel .If we can not get availability there we use La Mama Hotel. We can offer you a price without any Moshi accommodations included. Please ask us if you want to consider other options. If you book your own accommodations it is far better if the accommodations are in Moshi rather than Arusha.
